How do I make salads in advance?
Hi-I am trying to make a veggie salad (lettuce, onions, green peppers) in advance for the week. I enjoy eating a salad on my lunch, but I don't get enough time to prepare the salad and eat it. I would like to buy the vegetables and prepare enough for a week at a time. Has anybody ever done this? Maybe using a food saver or something? Any ideas will be grealy appreciated.
I DO IT ALL THE TIME, I MAKE THE SALAD, CUT LETTUCE, CUCUMBERS, TOMATO, RADISHES, PEPPERS, ETC.... WASH THEM, DRAIN THE WATER VERY GOOD... PUT IT IN A HUGE TUPPERWARE BOWL WITH THE LID, YOU DONT HAVE TO KEEP EVERYTHING SEPERATED,PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE, MINUS THE DRESSING, I TAKE OUT WHAT I NEED EVERY DAY AND PUT THE DRESSING ON AS I EAT IT... IT STAYS CRISP AND FRESH FOR ABOUT 5 DAYS!!! IT TAKES THE GUESS WORK OUT OF "WHATS FOR LUNCH" OR "WHATS FOR SNACK/DINNER" TRY IT.... I PROMISE YOU WONT BE DISSAPPOINTED... JUST REMEMBER NO DRESSING!

do you own a food saver?
my mom bought a food saver today at a yard sale. it's a mini food saver, I think the model number is 0434A017671. however, the man selling it had no idea where the directions were. so, if anyone out there knows how to use a food saver or has a site with easy step by step directions, I'd appreciate it!!
mine has directions under the lid when you open it.
