Food Saver Mason Jar Lid
Can you can peas , greenbean, and corn with out a presure cooker?
See I got this new thing for my food saver and I am not sure if I did it right because now every one of them except the geenbeans have a poped lid on them. Please help. Maybe I did it worng. Alos are they bad if this happen between thursday and today?
I am tryiny to save them I have a big family so I buy in bulk. Thought I try this with my veggy and put them in masons jars. Someone please help I am even more confused.
These are called low acid foods and unless you are pickling them with a vinegar or sugar solution - you must use a pressure canner. A water bath canner does not create enough heat or pressure to get rid of the air that could potentially harm you later in the form of bacteria. Some of them deadly like botulism.
There are some really good websites to help you out as pressure canning is quite a bit different than water bath canning.
Some rental places have pressure canners. They can be kind of expensive if you don't plan on using them all the time, but if you have a big garden or access to a lot of produce, it would probably pay for itself in a few summers.

No. From what I've read, vegetables are a low acid product and pressure cooker canning is the safe way to preserve. Water Bath canning isn't sterile enough and your veggie have a higher chance of spoilage.
