Yeah, I think you should definitely call the restaurant “Apocalypse Chow”!
People would sit on old 5 gallon pails and have little alcohol stoves on their tables where they would cook their homemade dehydrated meals and sip bootleg delights from the bar (like gingerale and ginger beer or maybe ginger will be too hard to get? Sassafrass instead? Kefir?)
We are scraping together $$ to make a cheese cave – am getting a lot of milk now (about 3 gallons a day) am getting tired of chevre so am going to make a DIY press and then start putting up raw cheddars and other sorts of cheeses, cant wait!
I canned 6 quarts green beans yesterday – got this funky red solution that developed (some sort of oxidation?) am sure they taste ok.
Am going to experiment with putting up chicken – raw pack.
I still have about 20 quarts of chicken stock left – maybe its time to make up a huge load of vegetable soups to supplement that.
I REALLY am crazing a food saver now (I am not the gadgetty sort, I promise!) so as to seal up all the things I have been drying.
Am getting ready to put up some local peaches. Not many, several pounds. Need to dry more blue berries.

Our squash will likely not fruit out – lots of beautiful vines though!! I am trying to appreciate what we DO get – even if its just lovely vines, its an important zen non-attachment lesson this year.
My garden, it seems, is always my zen master.
I don't think it will have more fry, however another fish may. I would suggest feeding the young fry the micro food for a little while until they are around 1.5 cm in length and then feed crushed flake for a while. They can probably be released with the other fish after a few months if not less, just look to see the size of them and if they can be eaten or not.
