Food Saver Roll
How influenced are we by marketing catch words or phrases on products?
I was looking around out pantry this morning and noticed about every product on the shelves has one of these. From splash-less, ez-pour, and no-drip on liquids to ultra soft, the quicker picker-upper, and we cannot forget the mega-roll for paper towel products. I even noticed that the trash bags were now packaged in "new space-saver packs" that apparently is a smaller box (saves them shipping too) with the same number of bags.
I guess the question is do you feel that most of us are more influenced by brand names we are familiar with or the phrases or artwork that is included on the packaging for household products?
I avoid including food/drink products as most of us would probably be brand loyal there.
not at all, especially now since i am a business student, i knw they are all lies

Food-saver Bags, any way to cheat on them?
I have one of the new foodsavers and I love it. The only thing is that the bags go so fast and they cost to much.
Does anyone know why I can't get other bags to work? It seals everything from zip lock baggies to potato chip bags. I just can't get it to suck out the air.
I have even tried thick to thin rolled up sheets of plastic. I have put paper in between the plastic sheets, still, it won't suck the air out.
What makes the store bought bags (recommended bags) so different and special?
Someone out there must know the answer....Share it with us.

I wish I had the answer to this question for you but can only guess. I believe they have developed a special brand plastic and no one as yet has either found the secret to it yet to develop a cheaper way to produce them or just doesn't feel there is any profit in doing so.
I use to use the old type Seal-a-Meal Unit without the vacume years ago and the bags for those were also expensive. I can froze my own tomatoes back then and found it a cheaper method then the normal canning method and it took less time.
One of my son's bought me one of these new vacume units but I have refused to use it due to the cost of the bag supplys. I know it's a wonderful unit but not worth the cost of using it.
Lots of luck to you in finding a cheaper bag to use. I couldn't find any.

Well, some foods aren't really certified by vets, they just say they are.
And if they are, I would say those are some ignorant vets!
