How long does food last in fridge using a food saver?
Someone's trying to give you food poisoning...
The main use of the foodsaver is to prevent freezer burn in frozen foods. In the refrigerator, it depends on the food. Cheese can last months, some produce can be extended as long as weeks in the cannisters, but other than that most foods can't be held in the refrigerator any longer with the foodsaver.

How to Store Food : How to Use a Food Storage System
Have you ever used a "FoodSaver" machine For Alternative Use & Are they air Tight ?
I have an interest/ need for to seal computer mb disk. Do you think the food saver would keep humidity out? Are they air tight ? ever tried?
Got to be better than a zip bag for my computer stuff. A friend of mine thinks before we go on trips this would be a nice idea to seal our computer floppy MB disks.
So how long do you think they'll stay dry? seen frozen food still get freezer burn? Please tell me if you have ever tried for alternative use.
Important: Have ever had humidity inside bag when at water?
Alright if not able to answer of know that then Has a freezer bag ever become separated apart and open before you want it to ?
I would test it on those freebie ones(the software disks for new online service) you get in the junk-mail.

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday–I don't count Halloween as a holiday, that's my birthday extra. This is year is going to be very bittersweet for us. We are childless–unless we borrow some from our friends who have ALL offered!–none of our 5 will be here. Amy is working the ER in Dallas. I may have to deliver a plate to her when she goes to her 2nd job, which is house sitting. And as most of you know, my father died in March, but his birthdate was last Sunday. He would have been 90. No phone call from him to let me know how Thanksgiving dinner went with my sister. This always produced such a good laugh.
But I am so thankful this year for my family–those related to me & those I've chosen! The people we surrounded ourselves with tell a lot about us. So I'm rich!
I'm thankful for my DH !!! And he cooks & cleans. How blessed can a woman be? We're having turkey, 2 kinds of stuffing {I know, I know–the nutrition major in me cringes} green beans–no casserole unless I jump up & make it–sweet & mashed potatoes, gravy, canned cranberry, my fresh orange & cranberry salad, crescent rolls, pumpkin & chocolate bourbon pecan pie. Need I say that I'm also grateful for my food saver?
I'm not including a receipe as I don't have anything original.
