FoodSaver Roll
Compatible FOODSAVER bags/rolls???
Are there any bags/rolls out there that you can buy in the store that are compatible to the FoodSaver vacuum sealer machines that ACTUALLY WORK just as well? FOODSAVER bags are quite expensive and I want to save a few bucks on bags/rolls. I've been on eBay and are kinda skeptical of the sellers who claims that their bags are so-called compatible. PLEASE, only people who actually have tried the compatibles answer. THANKS!
Yes, there are several. I go to Walmart and buy bag/rolls. Black and decker actualy sell some that are pretty good. Walmart also has a brand, "Great value" is the name and they work pretty good too. If you are not using them on meat products you can re-use them. Just wash them good and dry them out. I have done that too.

How think are Talia brand Foodsaver bags?
I have seen replacement bags and rolls on Ebay that are 3 mil and 4 mil, but the website does not says how thick the name-brand bags are.

I can't find that info on my bags. But there are about the same thickness as the yard trash bags and I think that was 4 or 5 mil. So I guess you can get a cheap 4 mil one and see if it works and then buy more if it the right one and write the mil size on the bottom of the food saver so you will remember for the next time. The ebay seller could mail you one sample piece if you pay them the 41 cents but if they ask for that go to another seller. We get our at a big box store and they are ok priced but we don't use the bags that much.
