Fresh Green Produce
Are there no rules about how long Wal-mart can keep produce on their shelves?
I shop at Wal-mart once a week, but I finally gave up on their produce section. They are usually out of regular tomatoes...or there will be a ton of tomatoes, but every single one is bruised and squishy. The green apples tend to be half brown, and sometimes every single package of strawberries contains mold. It's like that almost every week.
I don't shop at Wal-marts in other towns. Do other Wal-marts have the same problem? Why can't they keep fresh produce on their shelves like other big grocery store chains?
It's sly, so it pays to check your food! Produce doesn't get a 'Used By Date' stamp like other products, so really they can keep it out there for as long as they like....or until someone complains! :/

How can you preserve fresh green chillies?
I have a Chili Plant and it has produced loads of fresh green chillies but how can i keep them fresh?
Simply freeze them! We do this when we have a glut and they last for ages in the freezer. You can defrost them by just dropping them in a cup of boiled water or my preference is just to cut them up while still frozen, they defrost as you do it but there is less of the chilli juice on your fingers!
