how to repair scratched marble?
While scraping ice from the steps of my row home, I managed to also scrape the white marble. There are several lines, fortunately, they are shallow. Suggestions as how to smooth over/treat/remedy?
The way to fix it depends on how deep or how wide is the damage of the scrape of your marble. You can have it buffed to restore its shine or you can have them fixed from a qualified person having the knowledge on how to restore the white marble you have.

Cultured marble is not impermeable. Petroleum based chemicals like nail polish remover will damage it, as you saw.
Try soft scrub or any other bleach product to fade out the stain. If that doesn't work you can look in the yellow pages for a counter top installer. They will sand out the stain and repolish the top to a high sheen.
