my rebuilt small block chevy wont idle?
i have a 350 chevy 4bbl carb torker intake afr heads 2.08 intake 1.60 exh. msd pro billet dist fuel psi reg. im running 7 psi off the reg.
the cam is 540/545
this is a new engine. it will not idle unless you feather the throttle.it will run. it starts up easy but it will sometimes race then settle down.
it seems to make a ton of power just will not idle. i switched carbs from a demon to a 750 holley. the heads to intake are just sealer no gaskets. this is what afr recommends could i have a vacume leak??
perhaps the sealer spread out when i installed the intake.
i dunno tried everything to this point help help help
start it up, get it to almost die, and place your hand or a rag over the carb. if it recovers quickly, its a vac leak or lean carb. the fact that it races initially, then returns to idle is the big clue, classic vac leak or lean. ive installed a few torkers on s/b chevys, (great choice) but never w/o gskts. even with gskts, if the heads, deck, or intake have ever been machined, you. may have a problem.ALSO, im not the manufacturer, but ive been an ase master tech for 35 yrs. and i cant tell you how many times ive seen intake gskts sucked out of place and sucked out of shape under normal conditions. i use sealers at work 24/7 at work and none of them would stand up as an intake gskt substitute. sounds like a lot of cam and the 750 is more than enough, providing its "right". if this is a real pretty motor you dont want to do this, but spraying carb cleaner or wd-40 along the intake/head area will locate the leak. also if you have an egr valve, remove it and cover the 2 ports with a homemade plate and see whwt happens. wish i could contact you with more help, good luck

Does anyone know where I can find a vacume sealer?
Im moving across country and in order to get all of my clothes into the trunk im going to want to use one of those vacume things... does anyone know where i can get one?
You could buy Space Bags, that use a regular vaccuum. They sell them at places like Bed & Bath, and they work really well.

No. In the first place, you're not going to get out all the air with a home vacuum sealer. It'll get out a lot, but not all. And the air is only part of the problems.
You'll note MRE bags don't look like cheap plastic. They're much less permeable, and the food is sterilized in the bag after sealing. The bags you get with home sealers are not impermeable. You'll certainly get some (limited) gas exchange. While you can probably boil in them, I don't know if it's safe to bring them up higher (in a pressure cooker).
Even if you got out all the air, only some pathogens need oxygen. Notably C. botulinum does not, and it is not killed by boiling. You may want to look up sites that give information about canning.
