Vacuum Sealer Bag
Is it safe to use generic vacuum sealer bags with a brand name machine?
I have an older model FoodSaver machine. The bags are so expensive that I looked into using a generic brand. Are the generic brands the old saying "you get what you pay for" or are they truly just as good and cheaper because they don't care the expensive FoodSaver label?
Sometimes the generic brands are not quite the same quality, but they are perfectly good and will do the job. If you can find generic bags that fit, then I would use them.

What replaces the air when you use a vacuum sealer container?
I know that when you use the bags, the air is replaced by the bag, but what replaces the air when you suck it out of the container?
nothing. that's why it's called a vacuum cause nothing's in there

Thanks for the great evaluation! As an Amazon subscriber and a Costco card holder I like to mix shopping at the two. I subscribe to Amazon for canned cat food, organic tomatoes, organic pizza sauce, and organic oat groats, none of which are carried by Costco. If Amazon carried more organic foods, I would happily buy more from them.
