For storing things in the freezer, I use a Food Saver. Before I had my third child, I stock piled food in my freezer and didn't have to do much cooking for the first couple months after he was born. If I want to vacuum pack something that is liquidy like soup or sauce, I freeze it first in a plastic container. Once frozen, I pop it out and seal it. To defrost, you can take it out of the vacuum bag and put it back in a container to defrost in the refrigerator.
The thing about food saver vacuum sealer is that, uses you can find for it are various and it does not include just food but it can be used for many other everyday staff. We will talk about other uses later but first the main purpose of food saver vacuum sealer – food.
I use my food saver almost every day. I “test drove' it at a friends house and loved it. With just my husband and I , it's a great time saver-I make full size recipes, then freeze individual portions. I also love to preserve the harvest for the freezer with my food saver. I never have freezer burn. I store cream cheese, velveeta, regular cheeses, all sorts of stuff in them-they last a LOT longer. Ack-I sound like a commercial. Time to quit!
