I wanted a nice vacuum sealer unrelated to this project, and so I obtained [this When I first tried sous vide, I did so using a cooler full of hot water and regular ziploc bags. The trick with the bags was to submerge it up to the open top. The pressure of the water will force most of the water out. I felt that was acceptable for a tryout period. Would probably be even easier if a second person could help squeeze air out.
ooo i love posts like this… makes me feel like Benny and I come from a “normal” home… Our folks can NOT say NO to Verimark… we are the only family whose parents bought a second vacuum sealer as they actually burnt out the sealing mechanism… we had the health walker, the beer maker, the thing you use to carry your carry bag [well we had four of those cos “if you call now…”… the one advert that gets them every time is when they pierce the couch with a massive knife and then patch it up with this amazing compound… My father is mesmerised by this one….
They have two recipe book stands… one like the picture and a perspex one – I am sure this was bought at a “design for living” expo…. the perspex is ideal because the rack can block the recipe… or so I am told…

Now as for the storing of the powdered eggs, vacuum sealer bags work the best. But, if you don't have access to those,you can store the eggs in an airtight container in a cool, dry cupboard. Before I got my vacuum sealer machine, I would just put the powdered eggs in a ziploc baggies (squeezing out as much air as possible) in the cupboard and they always stored just fine
"FoodSaver" be one of the better brands on the market (have one) butttt, the co$t is a bit high. 2nd link is for a' Deni on ebay that's a' pocketbook saver, might add that it has free Shipping & Handling, now as for the quality, that I'm not sure of… 3rd link is sealers and bags on ebay w/ their "Buy Now" option. Hope it helps out somewhat;)…
