Vacuum Sealer Jars
Is it possible to extend the shelf life of oatmeal by a vacuum sealer or canning jar? If so, by how long?
Vacuum sealer is the only way to keep your oatmeal, will last up to 5 times as long as in the original container. If you get a vacuum sealer and want to freeze your vegetables. First freeze the vegetables for an hour or two then vacuum seal them, that way they won,t stick together in a clump.

DIY Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer
vacuum sealers for care packages to Iraq?
My fiance is deploying to Iraq in a couple of weeks. He loves homemade muffins and cookies, so is a vacuum sealer worth buying or should I stick to sending things like jar cakes ? I'd really like opinions from people who have been through this before!
The vacuum sealer never has worked for me and I found I wasted my money. I send the cakes in jars still just make sure they are cooked to 160 degrees before you send them. I have also found that sending homemade beef/venison jerky tends to rot even when vacuum sealed. My husband however is usually in a remote area where the mail take at a minimum a month to reach him. store bought seems to make it better and you have minimal risk of allergies when guys share. Make him a few things for himself and seal the best you can then buy stuff to share. It works for me!

Hi, i would check out your local Walmart store, they would have a good food sealer that you could use, or try any kmart or fod store.
