can i use crisco or somthing to condition my leather bag?
i have an old mail bag i got at the flea market. its a real nice bag,but its dry and craking. what can i use to clean and softin it?
crisco??? i cant aford the leather cleaners.
leather is typically conditioned with neets foot oil. DON'T use silicon. Lanolin is FAR better than crisco which is vegetable fat/oil. It will soon desicate and you will be left with an unpleasent oder.
Mineral oil would be the third thing to try and I personally wouldn't use baby oil nor vasoline....the latter being more like grease than oil. DON'T use Murpheys nor saddle soap they are cleaners.
