How do I cook healthy food that also tastes good?
I'm about 50 pounds overweight and while I want to loose weight, I don't want to sacrifice my taste buds. For me, food is the spice of life and I'd rather be fat eating good food than skinny eating bland food. Of course, I'd rather be skinny eating good food! So far every "healthy recipe" I've tried tastes like crap. Does anyone have any techniques to share, or at least stories of how you lost weight without giving up the so-called "spice-of-life," AKA food?
When I lost weight, I changed nothing except portion size. Decrease your portion size. If you dont feel full, drink more water. water will become your best friend when you lose weight.Pretty soon, you're metabolism will change and you will start to feel fuller faster. And dont forget. EXERCISE EVERYDAY!!!!! Dont expect a noticeable difference if you dont exercise. I used to shudder at that word and now I feel sinful not exercising lol. If you dont exercise, your weight loss program may fail.You will lose weight slower and you may get discouraged because of the slow progress. I used to get tired within 5 minutes of running. Now Im training for a marathon.
Enemy Number One: Dont eat out. No soda or juice. If you get tempted, drink water to make you full.
Its a good time to hydrate yourself. The more transparent your urine is, the more hydrated you are. Try to drink as much water as you can so that you're urine is clear. That number of cups should be your goal everyday. This will also influence the amount you eat. My tip is if you dont have a cup of water by you every hour, get one. When you get tempted to snack, drink it. Limit what you eat.

I know its shocking. Yes it freaked my friends out. I could even fit into some of my friends' (who are girls) jeans. And guess what?? I had the same food. Deep fried?? no problem. Its all portion control. But I will admit. I used Lent to jump start this lifestyle change.

Healthy food?
Please grade A-F for the following cuisines in terms of healthy food. (high protein & low fat)
Indian, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese
Indian:B,fresh spices but bit fattening
Mexican:D,lots of oil and calories
Italian:B,pretty good but not too much cheese
Viet:A,i've been to viet restaraunts and they always serve fresh mint and vegetables with soup noodles and rolls.
Thai:similiar to Indian, more tang
Japanese:A,fresh seafood and vegs everyday
Chinese:C,ive been eatin dis everyday...makes me fart.

Cherrybottom, your stupid, when you go to middle school you start seventh not sixth, or atleast I did.
There are many good recipes to try that are also healthy. But adding lots of herbs and spices is the key instead of salt and sugar.
Dietditch (see below) have some good free recipes.
I love Baked Salmon:
place 1 salmon fillet per person on baking paper in an oven proof dish.
Brush with Teriyaki sauce
Zest freshly grated ginger on top
Bake for about 12 to 15 Min's in a hot oven ( about 200 c or 400 f) brushing with any pan sauce 3 times.
Serve with baked sweet potato and steamed greens.
And for a breakfast smoothie:
1/2 c non fat milk
2 Tbsp plain yogurt
handful frozen berries
1/2 banana
ice
Blend together until smooth.
