Storage Child
About to have my first child. Trying to decide what we want to do for the bed.?
I really don't want to buy something that wont be used. I have heard some people buy a bed and then sleep with the baby in their bed. I have heard some say the convertible crib is the way to go. I have also heard that a nice bassinet or playpen with storage and a changer would be cool. What is your advise?
We decided to start out cosleeping, and buy a crib if and when we needed it. We've never needed it, and both our kids have gone straight from our bed to a twin bed.

What are the top 10 essentials to have when preparing for your first child?
Getting ready to start shopping for our baby due in Aug. Wanting to know what is most important and was used the most by you. We do not have a lot of extra storage in our house so I am not wanting to buy stuff just to have it...I want to make sure it is useful.
Diapers
Wipes
Petroleum jelly (for prevention of nappy rash)
Baby soap (I use Johnsons head to toe)
Clothes - Sleepers that zip/snap down the front (the back is a pain), vests, socks, onsies (the rest depends on the climate you live in)
Car seat (legally a must depending on where you live and if you have a car)
Crib - unless you plan to co-sleep
Baby bath - unless you have a suitable sink or basin that you can use until he/she can use the adult one
I think that those are the essentials. For further convenience you can also have a stroller, pack n play, sling/carrier (if you plan to wear your baby)

I don't quite get it. Illinois already has a “safe storage” or “child access” law. At first glance, it seems stricter than this one–it only requires one incident, if I recall correctly.Your tax dollars at work.

-Lack of softness at the library area. More cushions should be added in the area. However, there is a carpet as the comfortable surface for children to sit down comfortably.

-The storages (baskets) on the shelves are not clear storages and there are no labels to it. Children may have to pull the storages from the shelves and look what is inside the basket.

-If we were children, we think that this classroom makes us feel happy and the drive to do things due to the rainbow painted at the top of the door (narration).

-Library corner does not have enough softness. Instead of just a rug, there should be more cushions. A box or covered space can also be placed there for children who want some time alone.
-However, I think the space under the rainbow seem to be overwhelmed by the large amount of photos. And the whole area seems to be too colourful, which might cause it to look messy as a result.
-As the ceiling looks very high, the teacher could hang some items from the ceiling to make the ceiling look lower to the children to make them feel less intimidated.

In my opinion, the space within the learning environment is well utilized. There is space for the children to sit on the carpet and read books.
The aesthetics of the learning environment is also well groomed. I can see children’s artwork pasted on the walls. Also, the children’s photos were nicely decorated with frames. The photos on the wall would help encourage children to interact with each other because children tend to get excited, start pointing out their own photographs and converse with peers, when they see their own photographs.
The carpet on the floor at the reading corner looks inviting and provide comfort of the children.
The windows welcome the natural Sunlight into the room. The large window gives sufficient natural light to make the classroom bright and comfortable. This also allow the children to appreciate the nature and what is outside of the classroom, while they are engaging in their activities.
Arrangement of areas is appropriately arranged. In this instance, the writing area and reading corner are put together to facilitate integrated learning. Also, the carpet used in the reading corner helps soften the environment, making the area more cozy and comfortable.
The toys displayed on the shelves are also for easy reach. This makes it inviting for the children to play with. The toys in the shelves are spread out neatly (toys are not stacked) –making that area aesthetically pleasing.
