What is the advantage of bag gloves over leather half finger gloves?
I've been using a set of simple leather half finger gloves when exercising with a heavy bag for years, recently got a pair of bag gloves for Christmas. I have been using them but can't tell the difference from when i wear them and when i don't, so i curious what's the advantages wearing padded gloves over non-padded gloves when using a heavy bag?
the only real difference will be the protection of your hand, more padding means less likely to give yourself a boxer break, the half finger gloves are more for ground training, but either ones really will work.

Master P- Half On A Bag Of Dank
How come when you buy a bag of chips, why is it always half a bag of air?
Because the chips will "settle" lower in the bag as they are transported from the processing plant to the grocery store. The bag is full initially before it's sealed shut. these type of packages all tell you somewhere on the package that "the contents are packaged by weight, not volume" and "contents will settle during handling". The only ones that won't settle are Pringles!
