Bowl Covers Colors
my budgie is getting covered in paint, what should i do?
My budgie (who is quite new, been here about 5 days and about 15-16 weeks old) has only very recently started playing with a rope toy in his cage. (It's kind of a rope attached to a block with more ropes coming off the block)
Anyway, I guess he must have had a bath in his bowl because he's quite wet, but when i saw him sitting on the toy he was covered in red paink, same color as the toy (also, It's definatly not blood, theres orange paint too :S)
anyway, I'll take the toy out immediatly (he's a lovely white budgie and i want him to stay white) but i was just wondering if its possible that this will harm him in any way?
like i said, he's new so he doesnt not trust me, but he doesnt quite tottally trust me either, so i dont want to have to try to wash him unless i need to.
Most of those wooden & rope toys are dyed with food coloring or something like Koolade (a sugar based powder to make sticky sweet drinks for kids). In general is safe but you have already discovered it gets all over everything and dyes it too when it gets wet or played with. If you want to keep your bird white get uncolored ones as much as possible or get the plastic ones made for budgies. Its ok to spray your bird gently . with warm water or let him take a supervised bath daily or every few days if he wants. Just make sure he can dry off before bedtime and doesn't get a draft or chill. The coloring will wash off eventually or disappear with the next molt

should i cover the chairs?
im going to have my afternoon reception in the banquet room (it holds 200) of a Italian restaurant. my colors are aqua blue and cream. the flowers will be orange and hot pink. the color of the walls are tan, the light fictures are tan/orangey bowl looking things, and the chairs are maroon! my mother in law offered to make sashes that will cover part of the back of the chair that will be cream....should i even bother? renting chair covers is out of the question by the way...
im so stupid!!! here is a photo!, its at the top of the page. imagine this room with aqua blue linens & cream napkins. would cream chair covers go?

Wow!! You have lots of colors going on there. First, don't worry about the color of the walls and the light fixtures.
My personal opinion.....I would change up the linens. I would go with ivory table linens, which will be much softer with your bold orange and hot pink flowers. Then, have aqua blue napkins.
Then, if you want, you can do the sashes, but it is totally not necessary. Once everyone is seated, you won't notice the colors of the chairs! Really!
