Internal Frame BackPack Materials
What are those backpacks with a lot of pockets called?? (Read description.)?
SOMEONE has to know what that freakin backpack is called..!! The CLOSEST thing I could find was called an Alice Pack, but I'm not sure that's exactly what I'm looking for.. The backpack I'm looking for is (usually green I guess or) camo. It does NOT have a zipper though.! It has a drawstring (<- Or whatever it's called) instead of a zipper. && It has pockets on like the whole outside of the bag.!! The material is more like cloth, not plastic or anything, && I'm pretty sure it doesn't really have an internal or external frame.. PLEASE HELP, This is like the only thing I'm worried about at the moment.. Lmao But seriously, I'll love you forever if you help me.. ..
What you are looking for is a multi-pocketed rucksack, of which there are many designs. The material is normally cotton duck, canvas, nylon or polyester, or a cotton and synthetic fiber mixture.
It's just a particular style of unframed backpack or rucksack.
Some similar backpacks have one or a few or many pockets, some don't.
Some of those with pockets are designed for cameras and lenses, flashguns and filters etc for photography and some are intended for fishing or hunting with pockets for various accessories for those.
Some just have pockets for whatever you want them for and all of them come in black or white, various colors, and with camouflage patterns or other designs.
They are sold in shops and on market stalls all over the world.
Some people distinguish between a rucksack which has pockets and a backpack which has no pockets, especially it seems in Canada.
In most of the English-speaking world the two words mean exactly the same thing and are interchangeable.

Many rucksacks have drawcords (=drawstrings, interchangeable words) and no zippers.
Some have drawcords for the top but zippers or straps on the pockets. Some have only zippers.

A simple early version of rucksack, often square or rectangular, is a knapsack.
Knapsacks have two shoulder straps like a rucksack but the word is now sometimes used to include bags having one strap, which are normally called haversacks especially by the military.

An Alice pack is a style of rucksack issued by the USA military.
ALICE is short for All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment and includes a set of webbing as well as the various packs that attach to it or are otherwise associated with it.

The British Army issues a style of rucksack known as a Bergen, named after the town of Bergen in Norway.
In the UK the word Bergen is sometimes used as a word for all rucksacks, especially by young people and street-cred wannabees who like the military associations of bravery, daring-do and and 'toughness' implied by that, as though carrying a Bergen is a tougher and braver task than carrying a rucksack of the same size and weight.

All the fees seem outrageous, but the worst was the $5 fee I was recently charged for an oversized garbage bag (or plastic carseat bag) on Delta. I was coming back from a backpacking trip and had my internal frame backpack with me. I like to put it in a bag so that the handlers don’t trash the straps. I have traveled with this bag numerous times and never been charged for a plastic bag (two weeks earlier, Frontier gave me one for free). So not only do I now have to pay $25 to check the thing, I have to pay $5 to make sure it arrives in one piece. I would have been OK if it had been $1-2 dollars, but $5? For a plastic bag? Give me a break.
I used to use a large internal frame backpack, but I switched to a rear rack and panniers when I bought a road-style bike. The panniers have several drawbacks, so I'm experimenting with a milk crate. Post with details coming soon.
I’d be all about the hiking pack. We have some nice luggage but we’ve been doing lots of camping and plan to do more.
