Package Heat Seal
Where can I find 1 to 1.5 inch wide polyPROPYLENE layflat tubing? Anyone?
I am looking for a lightweight, easy-to-tear, food-safe plastic to be used with a heat sealer to package homemade baked goods. More specifically, dipped pretzel rods. Ideally, a roll of narrow width would be best. That way, I can insert the pretzel and seal both short ends, and so on. There seems to be an abundance of the more rubbery polyethelene tubing available, but it is very difficult to break apart. Think Twinkie plastic. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanx.

Hi!! I am in a difficult math class and need help with a few question. I will only show a few different questions so that by looking at your answers I will know how to do the rest!! thanks a lot!!
1: A cylindrical home storage hot water tank is 18 inches in diameter and 8 feet long. What is its capacity to the nearest gallon?
2: A heating system is made of 220' of pipe with outside diameter 2". What is the available radiating surface? Round to a whole number. Hint: the radiating surface is the area of the long, cylindrical surface of the pipe. The ends of the pipe do not radiate heat, as they enter into machinery or a wall.
3: Paraffin comes in blocks 3" X 5" and 1/2 " thick, 4 blocks in a package. It is melted and poured as a seal into the top of cylindrical jelly jars 2 1/2 inches in diameter, to a depth of 1/4 inch. How many jars can be sealed with one package of paraffin?
4. Find the cost of 500 pieces of lumber, 2" X 8", 18' at $180 per 1000 board feet.
1. V = pi*(D/2)²*L = 400L = 106 gallons
2. S = 2*pi*(D/2)*L = 115 ft²
3. 1 package has 3*5*0.25*4 = 30 in³
1 jar requires pi*(D/2)²*0.25 = 1.227 in³
30/1.227 = 24.446 jars or 24 complete jars.
4. Total board feet = 2*18*8/12 = 12000 board feet
So it would cost us 12000*180/1000 = $2160
