Storage Containers How do you get the gunky dirt off older storage containers (like tupperware)?
It seems that some of my older tupperware, rubbermaid, etc. has a sticky, gooey kind of gunk on it. I have tried hoy water, Dawn, and soaked it in vinegar. Nothing works. Got any ideas??
I've never figured that out, either, so as mine "died," I replaced them with the inexpensive ones by Glad, etc. Doesn't hurt my feelings--or pocketbook--when they expire.

What type of plastic are storage containers?
I want to know what kind of plastic my storage container is made from so I can tell what will be effective at bonding to it.
The recycling symbol has no number within it, but 1030A-9 is directly below it.
I suppose knowing for sure it's not polyethylene or polypropylene would be enough.
Found it online, it's the Great Solutions 20 gallon tote. It appears to only come in opaque blue.
I'm almost certain polyethylene, one way to verify is to pour a highly caustic acid into it, if no reaction occurs polyethylene for sure haha!
