Bags FoodSaver Vacuum My grandpa sent down veggies from his Garden in FoodSaver bags. The bags are filled with air now. Why?
He lives in about central Maine. I live in Southwest, Florida. They just arrived here about 30 minutes ago. The cucumbers have some liquid inside the bags. The carrots do not. But all the bags are filled with air. The FoodSaver is supposed to vacuum seal all bags. Is this a problem? Are there any potential health risks?
Apparently they were not fully sealed. I love food saver, it will quadruple the lifetime of most perishables. But using off brand food saver bags I get about a 20% failure rate where they seem to seal but don't, have a slow leak not noticeable for a few days.
