A tin of Frank Cooper's Oxford marmalade taken by Scott on his 1911 Antarctic expedition and found in his tent is found to be still edible.
1962
In the U.S. Julia Child's cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking and her television show are almost single-handedly changing the way Americans cook and eat. Her detailed printed instructions for chocolate mousse and coq au vin are making these French classics possible for even a limited cook. Her widely popular recipe for the latter is being copied in millions of kitchens throughout America. A simple chicken dish, it is made with mushrooms, onions, bacon, and red wine.
